4 Truly Excellent Reasons You Deserve A Boudoir Session

by Nov 1, 2021

Do you need some good reasons to do boudoir? Check out these four truly excellent reasons why you deserve to do a boudoir session.

I know.

You have lots of reasons why you don’t think you could do a boudoir session (I’ve probably already heard what you’re telling yourself; I’ll address that in another post), but let’s try to focus on why you should do a boudoir session and why you DESERVE one. If you don’t find my points compelling enough, there are a great many blogs out there that have lists of different reasons why you should do one. These are just the ones I felt were most important.

1) You deserve to love yourself

So many of us talk all sorts of shit about our own bodies but why are we so unkind to ourselves? We are perfectly capable of being positive and supportive to the other ladies in our lives, why can’t we do that for ourselves?

You 100% deserve to love who you are without needing your friends and family to tell you are worthy. A boudoir session can help show you that your physical body is worth loving and supporting in the same way you love and support your friends. And not only will it show you that you are worthy, the fact that you are doing a session is a way of loving and supporting yourself. Two birds, one stone, hey?

You’ll see yourself in a completely different way that you probably don’t even realize you need to see.

2) Self-Empowerment

Very similar to the last point, you will walk out of your session feeling like a damn badass. It might take you a moment to get into the groove during a boudoir session, but you’re going to feel beautiful, strong, and sexy during the session.

You’ll become comfortable in outfits you didn’t even think you could be comfortable in. And not in a ‘I’m comfortable enough to hang out around the house in this’ but in a ‘I’m feel sexy as hell. Channing Tatum wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off of me’ kind of way (or whoever your male celebrity crush is lol).

That feeling of empowerment will carry, too! Not only will you feel it during your session but you’re going to feel it for the rest of the day or days to follow. Then you’ll feel it again when you see your images, and again every single time you look at those images.

For serious, it’s totally worth it.

3) Self-Care

Can I say it again, you deserve to love and support yourself. Creating a boudoir session that is for you – about you – is the best way to feel fabulous and that will pay into all those feel-good emotions that make you feel cared for. Besides the session, there is all the build-up around it! You can treat yourself to some shopping (for your wardrobe), you can let someone do your hair for you (I don’t know about you, but I melt when my hair is being done lol), and you can let someone do your makeup for you. You can even include a special spa day for yourself with manicure, pedicure, facials, and whatever else you’d like. It’s a fantastic reason to build a day or two of relaxation and fun that is JUST FOR YOU.

4) It’s Fucking FUN!

When you’ve taken the time to carefully choose your photographer and had the time to chat with them and get to know them, then you can’t possibly do anything other than have fun at your boudoir session!

I’m a ridiculous person who loves to make people laugh. I play the music that you like and I’ll dance, sing, and laugh with you throughout the session. You might just feel like you’re hanging out with a friend…while wearing next to no clothes and they’re taking your photo. You know, like all friends do, right?

Wow, what an amazing experience it was having my photos taken by Pam of Roses & Scars Photography. As a breast cancer survivor, this was absolutely the most empowering experience I have ever had. I was ashamed of how I looked and hadn’t even considered letting anyone see the way my body looked until after reconstruction. And then a model call fell into my lap for Breast Cancer awareness to help raise money for the Pink Wig Foundation and I just couldn’t pick a more perfect way to help a great cause and to rebuild my self-esteem. Pam is so easy to work with and very professional, she made me feel at ease and brave enough to show ‘ME’. I am a single woman, and before this, I hadn’t considered doing something like this because I am single, then I realized there was nobody more worthy to do it for than myself! No matter shape or size, single, married, dating, sexuality, or gender, this is the most amazing way to see yourself and to help rebuild your self-esteem or even just a little boost. I am missing almost everything that defines me physically as a woman, but I have not ever felt so beautiful, sexy, or desirable in my life. Thank You Roses & Scars Photography (Pam) for such an amazingly positive experience, can’t wait to do it again!
