Boudoir with Ms. J

Oct 30, 2019

Ms. J found me through a mutual friend. My first time meeting her was when I walked in to the hotel room her and her husband had rented for their stay in town with the dual purpose of using it for a boudoir session.

It was a beautiful sunny day in March in the Executive Suite of the hotel they chose overlooking the Saskatoon River. The room was full of sunlight but still needed a little help from some supplemental light.

I found working with her to be an absolute delight. She was easy going and eager to try new things. Here’s what she thought of her session.

R & S: What made you decide on doing a boudoir session?

Ms. J: I’ve been wanting to get Boudoir photos done for awhile. I’m pretty comfortable with my body and didn’t care who sees it. I knew this would be a fun experience to explore my sexy side.

R & S: How did you decide on what to wear? Did you have any meaningful accessories?

Ms. J: I had no idea what I was going to wear (I packed too many options). I think, the night before I tried on 10 different options! But with the help of my husband (and some friends on Snapchat   ) I was able to narrow it down. Pam was amazing for letting me use anything I wanted in my photos. Pearls, mirrors, and even a bottle of Grey Goose Vodka (my husbands favorite).

R & S: Let’s talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous? How did you feel being in front of the camera? Did it take you very long to get comfortable?

Ms. J: The day of the shoot I was a little nervous because I was unsure how it was going to work, but Pam was amazing at giving directions and making me feel beautiful (even though some poses were uncomfortable). She continually showed me the pictures throughout the shoot to make sure I loved the pictures.

R & S: Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun?

Ms. J: I had so much fun during the shoot! Pam was amazing! Before the shoot, I looked at photos on Pinterest to find out what I liked and didn’t like. Pam also had suggestions of poses as well.

R & S: Were you sore the next day from the poses?

Ms. J: My abs were a little sore the next day but it’s mostly my fault as I don’t work out. So my body was not used to flexing that much.

R & S: What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since then?

Ms. J: I love my photos! I have not really noticed a mental shift in how I view my body but I am already pretty confident with my body!

R & S: Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session?

Ms. J: My only tip for people getting photos done is to have fun with it! If you are comfortable and enjoying yourself your photos will turn out amazing!

R & S: What was your absolute favorite part of the experience?

Ms. J: I don’t know if I have a favorite part. It was my very first boudoir shoot and I had so much fun doing it. Pam was so much fun and made me feel very comfortable right away being in front her wearing almost nothing. And the photos were beautiful and I would definitely recommend Roses & Scars Photography to anyone who wants to get boudoir photos done!
