Boudoir with Ms. K

Jun 23, 2019

Ms. K had been through many changes in the last few years. She’d made some hard decisions but they had ultimately brought her to discover who she truly is.

A woman who is body positive, strong and confident.

In the beginnings of my boudoir journey, she and I discussed doing a boudoir session to help encapsulate her strong, confident, body positive new view of herself.

We used her house for the session and made use of the afternoon light coming in through her large living room window and a beautiful, lacy, black lingerie set to start, followed by some of her most favorite outfits.

Here is her feedback about her experience from the session.

R&S: What made you decide on doing a boudoir session?

Ms. K: I have wanted to do a boudoir shoot for a long time. As a woman on a body positive, sex positive journey I wanted to see myself in a way that I never really have. Sexy and confident.

R&S: How did you decide on what to wear? Did you have any meaningful accessories?

Ms. K: Choosing what to wear was 100% going with my personality. I asked my girlfriends for help…sent them pictures and took suggestions. I went shopping…tried on things until I felt comfortable. One of the pieces I wore was because it’s something old and worn…that makes me feel sexy.

R&S: Let’s talk about the day of the shoot. Were you nervous? How did you feel being in front of the camera? Did it take you very long to get comfortable?

Ms. K: It took me awhile to get out of my head and get comfortable. But you (Pam) did an amazing job of making me laugh.

R&S: Tell me about the experience you had during the session. Were the poses what you expected? Did you have fun?

Ms. K: Overall it was a really great experience. A bit of a learning curve in terms of body position but a great one. There was a fair amount of what I expected. And I thoroughly enjoyed the process. I will definitely be doing it again.

R&S: Were you sore the next day from the poses?

Ms. K: I felt great the next day, I did sleep well that night. It is a fair amount of work holding poses for the camera. But I took the afternoon and did some self care afterwards.

R&S: What were your first thoughts when you saw your images? Have you noticed a mental shift in the way you view your body since then?

Ms. K: My first thought upon seeing the pics was ‘Wow!’ I saw myself differently. I felt great about what I saw.

R&S: Do you have any advice or tips for ladies who are thinking about doing a session?

Ms. K: My advice to anyone doing a boudoir shoot is to just have fun with it and to not take yourself or the situation too seriously. Also…eat and hydrate!

R&S: What was your absolute favorite part of the experience?

Ms. K: My favorite part of the shoot was actually once I started to relax a bit. Things were drastically easier and much more fun. I enjoyed working with Pam. The entire shoot was wonderful and enlightening.
