I invite you to scroll down the page and learn about what Boudoir Photography with Roses & Scars Photography is all about. But if you have something specific you want to see, click any of these links and it’ll jump you down to that section.
You’re constantly bombarded with messages that say your skin is too dry, your body isn’t perfect, and you’re aging. After a while, you start believing it, especially if you don’t get many compliments from your partner anymore.
With all that negativity, it’s no wonder you might struggle to feel sexy and attractive.
I get it. But you have the power to change the narrative with your own boudoir experience.
You’re probably thinking about it but have some concerns—will it be uncomfortable, weird, or more revealing than you’re ready for? Let me be clear: at Roses & Scars Photography, your comfort is the priority. That’s how we create beautiful images!
First, we’ll meet for coffee (or wine!) to make sure you’re comfortable with me. We’ll talk about what you’re comfortable with, your goals, and what you love (or don’t) about your body. I’ll guide you through everything with wardrobe tips and a Prep Guide.
On session day, you’ll be nervous—and excited! But don’t worry. There’ll be music and lots of chatting. We’ll go over your outfits, I’ll guide you through each pose, and you can always say ‘No’ if you’re uncomfortable with that pose.
We’ll have fun—I’m seriously goofy! And by the end, you’ll forget you’re walking around my studio in your lingerie. You’ll leave feeling empowered, confident, and maybe a little sore from the posing (sorry!). Together, we’ll find that badass, sexy beast within you!
Now, you’re probably wondering, “This all sounds great, but how much does it cost?” Keep scrolling to learn more.
So, what does a boudoir experience with Roses & Scars Photography cost? Well, it depends on your goals! I’ll outline a few options to help you start building your perfect boudoir experience. The prices listed are just starting points. If you’re curious for more details, just send me a message, and I’ll happily send over the full pricing info.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a shoot cost?
This is often the first question people ask. I’d ask it, too! It’s a good question!
A Shoot for One starts at $400 (optional add-ons available for an extra fee) and include your pre-shoot consultation, wardrobe and prep guides, your 2-hour session, and an online gallery of your basic edited images to select from.
The session fee does not cover products after the session.
There are more details just up above in the Pricing Section of this page or if you’d like even MORE details, send me a message or email using the information on my Contact Page and I can send you the fully detailed pricing information.
Are there any prints, albums or digital images included in the session fee?
Prints and products are not included in the session fee. BUT packages are available that include the session fee and a product of your choice. These packages save you money if you select and pay for them prior to your shoot.
Can you do sessions shorter than 2 hours?
I don’t offer shorter sessions for a few reasons. The most important of those is that it can take up to 30 minutes to really relax in front of the camera! That 2 hours also allows for a relaxed pace with breaks that will provide a larger variety of photos than a shorter session would.
I only want my digital images so I can print them myself. Do you do this?
In fact, I do offer the purchase of digital images at $20 each for online downloads. With larger purchases of digital images, a bulk discount can be considered and the files can be provided to you on a USB thumb drive – no additional charge.
You’ll also receive your digital image files at a discount if you pre-select a digital image package and pay for it prior to your shoot. There is also the option to get a discount on digital image files when you add them on to an album package when paid for prior to your shoot.
Though I do offer digitals, I still strongly recommend prints and albums as they will often end up being the best value for your dollar. Not only that, but the risk of your images being misplaced or forgotten is lower with print products.
Who books a boudoir shoot?
Anyone really.
There are plenty of reasons to book a boudoir session. Many women just do it for themselves. Some want to create a truly personal and unique gift for a birthday, anniversary or wedding day. Maybe they want to use the session to celebrate a landmark – turning 40, coming out the other side of illness or a bad relationship, or losing weight.
Your reasons are valid and your own!
I really want to do this but I'm so nervous! How can I calm my nerves?
You know what? It’s completely NORMAL to be nervous about a boudoir shoot! However, from the start of your experience to the very end, I will be focussed on helping you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
What do you mean by a pre-shoot consultation?
The pre-shoot consultation is a vital component of your experience. You and I will meet over coffee (or wine if that’s your jam) to discuss and plan your session. We will pick the date, time, and location and then we’ll talk about you and your session goals and expectations. This meeting is as important for the details as it is for us to be able to get to know each other a bit.
This meeting can also happen via a video call. In person is always nicer, but it doesn’t have to be.
Do you provide hair and make-up services?
Unfortunately, I do not have an ongoing partnership with a regular hair and makeup artist at this time.
If you’d like, I can definitely make arrangements for hair and makeup to be done for you on location just prior to the start of your session. Though that fee is not included in your session cost and is payable to the hair and makeup artists.
You’re also welcome to make your own arrangements for hair and makeup. I’m happy to make some recommendations.
Can I do my own hair and makeup?
Absolutely! If you have the skill and confidence to do it yourself, then feel free to do your own hair and makeup. It’s important to know that your makeup will need to be done more heavily than normal so it can be seen in your photos.
But don’t neglect the added bonus of being pampered by having it done for you 😉
Where will my shoot take place? Can I choose the location?
Your session could happen anywhere, really. It’s something we will discuss at your pre-shoot consultation.
I have a studio space in Saskatoon or it could happen in your home, a hotel (not included with your session), or even outdoors within Saskatoon. If you’d like to shoot outside of Saskatoon there will be a small mileage fee to consider.
I have a list of suggested hotels I can provide if that’s where you’d like to do your session. And recommendations on how to prepare your home if that’s where you choose.
How long will the photoshoot last?
Your boudoir shoot will last a minimum of 2 fun-packed hours. They can be longer if you’re sharing your time with a friend during a 3-hour Shoot for Two. You could also choose to extend your session by 30 minutes by choosing one of the optional add-ons (Milk Bath, Paint Spatter, or UV Blacklight Paint).
Do I have to wear only lingerie for a boudoir shoot?
While lingerie is often a keystone item during a session, it isn’t the only thing you can wear. I also encourage the use of everyday wear like jeans, jackets, and sweaters, or even your partners’ clothes or sports jerseys. You can also go the other way and move toward tastefully covered nudity.
You are not limited to lingerie alone.
How will I decide what to wear for my shoot?
Not only will I provide you with a guide at your pre-shoot consultation, but you and I can also make a shopping date. I’ll come with you and together we will build your wardrobe from the bottom up.
But don’t feel like you need to buy a new wardrobe! You may have some great pieces in your closet already! If you aren’t sure if something will work, just share photos with me and I’ll let you know if it can work for your session.
Can I bring a friend?
Of course, you can! Having a friend there can help you feel more comfortable and can make it more fun for you. They’re welcome to come and offer their support. I only expect that they’re not disruptive and respectful.
Can I do the shoot with a friend?
Of course!
I offer a 3 hour Shoot for Two that friends can share. If having your friend there for support is that much fun, then sharing the experience with your friend will be all that much better!
I have some body hang-ups. Will you help me with this?
Yes, of course! That’s why you’re here, right?
As a woman, I get it. I get it so hard that there are things about your body that you maybe not be 100% happy about. Together we will find a wardrobe that will suit you and make you feel comfortable. Then we will work together during your shoot to pose you in ways that will downplay the parts of you that you’re less than thrilled about and feature the parts of you that you love.
I’ve got you!
Do you photograph men in this way?
I don’t *officially* offer this service, but it’s something I’m open to discussing with interested clients. In the cases of gentleman, I require a face to face meeting to really get that sense of comfort before accepting the booking.
Not all photographers fit all clients and vice versa.
Do you do boudoir photography for couples?
The Shoot for Two is designed for couples (and friends who want to share the time). Ideally I’d like to chat with both parties within the couple to get an idea of their comfort level and personality before bringing them in to the studio space for a shoot.
Will you edit my photos?
Yes. Initially I will only do basic light, color, and cropping edits. These basic edits are the images you will look through within a week of your shoot. You will select your favorites from these depending on the package you’ve chosen or how many images you’d like.
Then I will do the “deep edits”. I have no intention of making you look like someone else. I’ll soften your skin, remove temporary blemishes and scars or stretch marks (unless you ask me to leave them as they are), and smooth out any bumps of skin (they happen).
You will still be your beautiful self!
How long after my shoot will my images be ready?
After your shoot, you’ll have the basic edited files to view within a week.
After you’ve made your selection of favorites, it can take me up to 2 to 3 weeks to have the final edited images ready. Then it can take more time after depending on the product you’ve selected. Albums take an additional 1 to 2 weeks depending on shipping time.
How do I see my images when they are ready?
I’ll be uploading the basic light, color, crop edited files with a watermark to a Google Drive folder. I’ll send you the link to look through the images that way.
What if I can't make up my mind which images I want right away?
You don’t have to. You can take your time. I’ll be checking in with you frequently to inquire if you’ve had an opportunity to select your images for deeper edits.
What do most women do with their images?
The most popular way of receiving your images is in a beautiful high quality lay flat album which makes it easy to give as a gift if that’s your goal.
While the most popular it certainly isn’t the only option. You can find more information on the products and packages in the Pricing Section or by sending me a message using my Contact Information to get more details.
Do I need to know what I want to do with my images before the shoot?
Oh gosh no! I’ll review your options with you during the pre-shoot consultation so you can consider your options then. Sometimes you’ll know what you want to do then but you don’t have to make a choice.
You can choose what to do with your images after you shoot, but I will tell you this… if you *do* know what you’d like to do before you make your booking, then you’ll benefit from selecting a boudoir package from the pricing guide. Prepaying for your session and your product ahead of time provides you with a discount.
Will my images appear on your website or Facebook page?
They don’t have to.
At your boudoir shoot or even after I’ve sent you the basically edited images we will discuss if you are comfortable with me sharing and using your images (or some of your images) on my website and social media. If you’re not okay with it, then I absolutely will not post or share your images.
Even if you do consent to let me use any of your photos, I may ask you again later on if you’re sure before I use them. That’s how dedicated I am to ensuring your comfort.
How do I book?
In order to book, all you need to do is send me an email, message, or text message to start the conversation!
Believe me I’ve tried various types of booking forms and automated emails but I’ve always preferred and found best success with a direct email or message from you to me to ensure the ball gets rolling.
From there we will set a date for your pre-shoot consultation.
You can visit the Contact Me page to get in touch!
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible.
Motherhood has limited my available dates so it’s important to book as early as you are able. This is especially important if you have a particular date you’d like to have product in your hands (such as a birthday present or Christmas gift).
I recommend booking your shoot for, at minimum, 8 weeks before you would like to have a final product in hand.
I am unlikely to be able to do last minute bookings.
Will the paint stain my skin or my clothes?
For the paint spatter, I use a washable poster paint that should wash off well. There is a possibility that the darker colors could leave a temporary tinge on your skin. I don’t anticipate any staining on clothing, but there is a slight risk. This is also true of the UV Blacklight Paint.
I recommend using clothes that you are okay with getting stains on, just in case.
Testimonials
Pam was exceptional, from prepping me for the shoot with outfit & prop ideas, to coordinating hair and makeup for the day of the shoot with some of her collaborators. I felt pampered and lavished with attention from the minute I arrived at the gorgeous venue! I always felt comfortable and at ease, and Pam did a great job of giving me posing tips during the shoot. She very clearly laid out expectations for the shoot and ordering photos afterwards, and I was so happy to get a few sneak peek photos only 2 days after the shoot! I felt like fierce AF and I ABSOLUTELY encourage everyone to call Pam up and book a session with her. You will be so glad you did!!!
Just wanted to leave my 5 star review on my boudoir session with Pam!! I’d never done anything like this before but now that I’m getting older I wanted to celebrate all that my body has gone through “scars” and all. From suggestions to outfits and accessories Pam provided a comprehensive list of things to consider before the shoot. It was great so I had a few ideas of poses that I wanted to make sure to include. On the day of the shoot I was a little nervous, but Pam put me right at ease and I had a tremendous amount of fun! I had never felt so comfortable and relaxed wearing lingerie lol. Turn around time for images was fairly quick and we met to review them all. It was so hard to narrow down my choices that I bought all images on a thumb drive. Pricing was more than fair and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience and photos!!! I would definitely go back again!
I’ve had boudoir photos taken before, but my session with Pam was the most memorable. She made me feel at ease right away, and her bubbly personality made it easy to relax and not feel self-conscious throughout the session. She worked with me to find new and creative poses, taking some of my ideas and adding her own unique style, which resulted in some beautiful photos and a lot of fun during the process. I would recommend photos with Pam; her creative eye, honest and hardworking ethic and contagious personality make the experience truly one of a kind!
I’m pleased with both the process and outcome. Pam has a comfortable presence and I found it easy to follow her directions. She makes the photo shoot fun even though at times it can be challenging; whether it’s a tougher pose or self-doubt slips in, Pam’s ready to make sure the session is the best it can be. Thank you, Pam, for the experience and the great photos! Can’t wait for next time!
Pam is a wonderful photographer. She made me feel very comfortable and gave good directions. She’s happy to answer any questions you have before and even after your session! She made my session very fun, and I appreciated her honesty throughout. Highly recommend!
Pam did an amazing job with me. The pictures were phenomenal and I was super happy with them! She made me feel so comfortable during the shoot even though I was seven months pregnant and not so moveable, but she made me laugh she was very informative during and made sure I was good with everything and it wasn’t just her telling me to stand somewhere she helped out a lot. This was my first ever boudoir shoot and doing it pregnant was different but after my experience I would recommend this woman to anyone! I was nervous going in but she made me feel like I was working with someone I’d known forever. I’ll definitely be using her for more photos in the upcoming future.
Pam was SUPER good to work with and put me at ease immediately. I was pretty nervous and she handled it like a pro:) She was flexible with ideas and the pictures turned out better than I ever imagined they would! Thanks for helping me see myself in a different light Pam- you’re amazing
I didn’t know I could feel so nervous and anxious about having my pictures taken. I didnt sleep very well the night before however I left the session feeling amazing. Such a fun experience, lots of fun taking pictures, costume changes, and experimenting with different poses. I left feeling excited to see the pictures. Once Pam sent me the sneak peak I was really pumped to see the rest of the pictures I was super impressed that I could look so good. I loved the images and gained so much self confidence. It was an awesome experience. The service provided by Roses and Scars was excellent, professional, timely, and affordable. I would highly reccommend Pam with Roses and Scars Photography for all your photography needs but especially boudoir if you feel nervous. Pam will make you comfortable, have a great time and you will look gorgeous!
Love, love, love Roses & Scars! Pam is extremely professional and a natural at making you feel comfortable while you are exposed (or not) in front of her camera. She is attentive to detail and will go above and beyond so that your pictures turn out beautifully. Whether it’s tucking a roll away under your lingerie lol or placing a stray hair back in place, to playing your music and supplying chocolate for your nerves. I had a wonderful experience and know exactly where to go if I decide to do a photoshoot again.
Pam was great to work with! She has made me look great on the roller derby track, and when I suggested a crazy themed photoshoot with her, she was all in. She was enthusiastic with all the prep, helping me take my ideas and turn them into amazing shots. She’d never done a themed shoot before, but she was comfortable and was inspired the whole time.
