Breaking New Ground: My First Male Boudoir Shoot with Mr. T
Male boudoir photoshoots are on the rise, and it’s no surprise—body positivity is for everyone! Maybe you’ve thought about it but questioned if it’s really for you. Isn’t boudoir just for women? Absolutely not. Boudoir is for anyone ready to celebrate themselves and feel confident in their own skin.
I’ll admit, I’ve hesitated to jump into the world of male boudoir (or Dudeoir), as a female photographer. Safety is always a top concern, but I’ve had the pleasure of working with some amazing clients, like Mr. A, in my webcam boudoir shoot. It was a fantastic experience, and it helped me get comfortable with offering these shoots while still maintaining a relaxed, safe environment.
Today, I’m excited to share with you the bold wardrobe choices and stunning outdoor locations we used with Mr. T in his recent shoot.
Let’s dive in!

Mr. T and I spent some time texting to prep for his shoot. I always tell my clients, “When in doubt, bring it along!” It’s my job to help you decide what works best, and having options makes the process fun. Just like I tell my female clients, bring everything!
Mr. T showed up with a duffle bag packed to the brim. Talk about coming prepared! Here’s what we ended up using:
- A classic suit with suspenders, a button-up shirt, and dress shoes
- His military uniform (kept private at his request)
- A cozy cardigan sweater
- A playful apron that his partner loves
- Work overalls, boots, and a hard hat
- A leather jacket and jeans
- Cut-off jean shorts paired with a tie-dyed tank top
- Two pairs of boxers
It’s worth noting this is more outfit variety than I typically allow, but since many were quick-change options, we made it work—and yes, we ran over the 2-hour session limit. But Mr. T was having such a blast he didn’t mind paying for the extra time.

Mr. T didn’t just want studio shots; he wanted to take things outside—even in the fall! And let me tell you, I was all in. Lucky for us, it was a warm autumn, and the vibrant fall leaves made for a stunning backdrop.
We kicked things off in my studio to ease into the process and get him comfortable. Once he was feeling confident, we packed up and headed to Cranberry Flats. The fall colors, the river, and even a sandbar made for some breathtaking shots. Oh, and did I mention we waded through the river? Yes, it was freezing, but those water shots were so worth it.
