Covid Times: Webcam Boudoir with Ms. Laura

by May 22, 2020

When I started sharing my webcam boudoir sessions, Ms. L excitedly messaged me on Instagram that she wanted to try! She and I had spoken before about collaborating on a project as she is a body positive model with Masala Models. That was before Covid, so we haven’t had the chance to set something up. A webcam boudoir session seemed like a great opportunity to open the collaborative door.

Even though she is a model, I still treated her like any other client. So, of course, I asked her all about her session and what she thought! See more of her images here and find out what she thought of the session.

R & S: Tell me a little bit about yourself!

Ms. L: Hi I’m Laura I’m 35 years old and I live in saskatoon (Canada ) I’m a model here in saskatoon my favorite style of photography is boudoir.

R & S: Why were you interested in doing a webcam boudoir shoot?

Ms. L: I have really been missing doing shoots as I find it a creative way of expression. Of course at this time shoots are permitted especially studio /close up shots. I had seen people doing webcam /virtual shoots and I thought why not try it. I suck at technology so this was the scariest /trickiest part for me lol.

R & S: What sort of camera did you use?

Ms. L: I used my iPhone X which I bought for the camera since I run a food business @crossingculturescatering that requires great images.

R & S: Have you ever done an in-studio boudoir session?

Ms. L: I have done many boudoir sessions since they’re my favorite. I love the diversity of styles with different photographers in this genre.

R & S: How did you feel about the session? Did you have fun?

Ms. L: I felt great during and after the session with Pam. We have never met in person but I right away felt comfortable with her as soon as my camera turned on and I saw her smiling face.

R & S: What was the trickiest part of doing a webcam session?

Ms. L: The trickiest part was, for sure, the placement of the camera and needing lots of creative thinking and moving.

R & S: How did you feel about the sneak peeks I sent you? Did you care that the quality of the image was, obviously, lower than studio quality?

Ms. L: I felt great seeing the sneak peek photos can’t wait to see the rest !!! Of course, the quality might not be the same but really I’m impressed.

R & S: After your webcam session, would you consider an in-studio session?

Ms. L: I am very excited to do a future in-studio session with her as well as maybe some outdoor (social distancing sessions first).

R & S: What advice do you have for women who are considering doing a webcam session?

Ms. L: I think it is essential for all women to try boudoir photography. And do it for yourself, not for someone else.
Do not try to be sexy for someone else.
I have found my empowerment, sensuality my soft side through shoots, and continue to discover myself more.

R & S: Is there anything else you would like to share about your experience with me that I may not have asked you?

Ms. L: My experience with Roses & Scars was so great and I would like to add that Pam has an incredible knowledge to help you get into each pose. Like, wow, she really made it easy!

Thank you Ms. L! I had a great time with you and I look forward to working with you again soon…well…as soon as is allowed, anyway. winkinnocent
